Many thanks to all for another successful J Street Cup tournament!
On a beautiful Monday in May, government relations professionals enjoyed a round of golf at Mount Vernon Country Club, not merely to bask in the glorious weather, but to support the men and women of our armed services and their families in our annual J Street Cup.
For the 9th year in a row, DDC Advocacy has been a proud sponsor of the J Street Cup to benefit The Fisher House at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. This program recognizes the special sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and the hardships of military services by providing “comfort homes” built on the grounds of major military medical centers so that family members can be close to loved ones during recovery from injury.
Overall the event was a huge success; we were able to raise over $60,000 for this worthwhile cause! Aside from the chance to win a brand new Range Rover Sport at the 16th hole, guests were able to bid on auction items and participate in the raffle that included several fantastic prizes like vacation houses, sporting event tickets, golf rounds, spa packages, and several restaurant gift cards-all of which raised a significant amount of money towards the Fisher House.
We extend our sincere thanks to our 2011 J Street Cup sponsors, contributors, and participants who came out to support the cause. It is because of you that the event was such a success!
We’d also like to congratulate Pete Anderson on his retirement! Pete’s role as General Manager of Lodging at Fisher House has made a noteworthy impact on the lives of our military and their families. Thank you for your continued support of the J Street Cup.
We look forward to seeing you all next year!
