DDC Hires New COO/CFO to Manage Exponential Growth

March 11, 2008—Washington, D.C.—A seasoned executive with both financial management credentials and technology operations expertise, Jim Murphy was tapped for the dual role of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Democracy Data & Communications (DDC).  Murphy will direct DDC’s financial operations while working with DDC’s management team to address the operational challenges of the company as it continues to grow.

Jim Murphy joins DDC after serving as CFO of Cybertrust until their sale to Verizon Business in 2007. At Cybertrust, Murphy maintained both the financial and operational responsibilities for the $175 million, 1,000-employee company operating in 30 countries. Prior to his tenure at Cybertrust, Murphy served as Executive Vice President and CFO for Summerville Healthcare Group, Inc. Before that, he was Senior Vice President and CFO of Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Group, Inc., a NASDAQ-traded company. Murphy has held other senior finance positions for such companies as KB Homes and Arthur Andersen LLP.
