Joshua Baca

Director

Joshua Baca is a leader of effective grassroots initiatives at the local, regional, and national levels, bringing a unique combination of legislative, campaign, and grassroots experience to DDC Advocacy.  As a Campaign Director, Baca serves as a consultant to corporate and non-profit clients on strategies and tactics to execute key local grasstops and earned media campaigns.  Baca has helped manage national coalitions with integrated campaign elements that include coalition building, earned and social media, and field campaign activity.  Additionally, Baca serves DDC Advocacy’s in-house expert on forecasting political campaigns throughout the country.

Prior to joining DDC Advocacy, Baca served as a Legislative Assistant to former Representative Heather Wilson (R-NM), overseeing a portfolio of issues that included taxes, trade, budget, financial services, homeland security, veterans, telecommunications and small business matters. In 2006, Baca served on the field staff to Representative Wilson’s reelection campaign overseeing Hispanic outreach in the district, and executing an absentee and early voter program in an election won by just over 800 votes. In 2008, Baca left working for Wilson’s legislative staff in Washington to manage her field operations in the northern part of the state during her run for the US Senate. Working on the most competitive primary in the nation, Baca managed the mobilization of delegates to local county conventions, directed grassroots coalitions and coordinated get-out-the-vote initiatives.

Baca is a native of Northern New Mexico, and a graduate of Texas Tech University. He is currently a candidate for a Master of Arts in Government from Johns Hopkins University.
