Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer

Filling the dual role of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Jim Murphy is responsible for leading DDC Advocacy’s operational and financial functions.

Jim has over 16 years of senior-management experience, including operational, financial, mergers and acquisitions, and board positions at leading technology and healthcare organizations.  Prior to joining DDC Advocacy, Jim held a dual position as executive vice president and CFO at Cybertrust, Inc., where he was instrumental in the successful sale of the company to Verizon Business in 2007.  While at Cybertrust, Jim also served on the board of directors of a Belgium-based subsidiary that was publicly traded on the Euronext Exchange.  Prior to that, Jim served as executive vice president and CFO of Summerville Healthcare Group, Inc., and as senior vice president and CFO of Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Group, Inc., a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ.  Jim also has held various senior accounting and financial positions with KB Homes and Arthur Andersen, LLP.

Jim holds a Master’s of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Information Systems from California State University-Hayward.

Jim is active in area charities and serves on the board of the J Street Cup, a charity that raises funds for The Fisher House at Walter Reed Army Hospital.  He lives in Vienna, Virginia, with his wife and three children, Peyton, James, and Julia.
